Frequently Asked Questions

Can we charter for less than a week?
Three-, four- and even five-day charters are available for day as well as overnight. For charters less than a week you’ll pay slightly higher rates because our preparation is the same as for charters of a week or more.
When do we receive the return of our security deposit?
Your security deposit will be sent to you seven days after your charter
is complete. We take time to identify damages or lost items, although most charterers point them out to us. We’ll check the fuel supplies and telephone use and deduct the $50 for the port captain’s fees. Generally,
if there are no damages, the amount returned to you will be around $350.

Do you provide navigation charts and cruising guides?
All navigation is line-of-sight. While we do provide GPS coordinates—and most charterers do bring a GPS unit—they are not necessary.
If you’re doing a one-week charter you’ll receive a mini cruising guide to the La Paz area and the islands of Espiritu Santo, Partida and
San Francisco. We also keep a fishing chart aboard. Two-week charterers receive a packet of charts, however they can’t be used as you would a US or Canadian chart! You’ll find “Charlie’s Charts” aboard—my favorite—as well as the recent “Cruising Guide to the Lower Gulf” by Gerry Cunningham.
