The diesel tank holds 128 gallons, enough for 80 hours
of running time with 25 gallons in reserve.
Our 45' DuFour 455 sailboat burns about 1-1/4 gallons per hour.
There are two water tanks, one of 128 gallons on the port side and
another of 45 gallons beside the engine in the engine room.
(in addition we carry 24 to 30 gallons of purified drinking water.)
The galley has a saltwater pump to rinse dishes. The battery banks
have been increased to two and one half times their original size.
There is a total of over 1000 amp hours of house batteries.
The banks can be combined to start the engine if need be.
The jib is 135% size with Profurl roller-furling. The sails are
in very good shape, with the jib new in 2016, the mizzen
in 2018 and the main in 2015. The electric windlass is a
Muir purchased in 2018. The anchor is a 66 lb Bruce type
anchor with 200' of 3/8” BBB chain. The back-up
anchor is a 60 lb Northill type anchor
with chain and rope.
